Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti will expand her council of ministers tomorrow. It will be the first expansion of her old ministry since forming the PDP-BJP Government on April 4 last year.

As per the arrangements between the two allies, the PDP has a quota of 14 ministers, which included the chief ministers, while BJP has 11 ministerial berths. As of now, PDP has 12 ministers and BJp has 11 ministers which include Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Kumar Singh and Sajjad Lone.

Apart from Bukhari, Javid Mustafa Mir and two ministers of state Mohammad Ashraf Mir and Abdul Majeed Padroo, who were part of an earlier government led by her father Mufti Sayeed, had been dropped by her. BJP had dropped MLA Sukhnandan Choudhary. There can be a maximum of 25 ministers in the state.
