Senior NCP leader and former Minister Bhaskar Jadhav to join Shiv Sena

Mumbai: Senior NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Bhaskar Jadhav has announced to join Shiv Sena on Monday. This is seen as another major setback for the NCP. Jadhav started his political journey with the Shiv Sena but later joined the Sharad Pawar-led NCP. He held a meeting with his supporters on Monday in his hometown Guhagar in Ratnagiri district, where he announced to join the Shiv Sena.

It is noteworthy that recently several senior leaders from the opposition NCP and Congress have joined the ruling BJP and Shiv Sena in the state. Assembly elections are proposed in the state next month. Jadhav told presspersons in Ratnagiri that he has decided to join Shiv Sena on September 13 after brainstorming with his supporters over future steps.

He said, "I met Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray a few weeks ago and he offered me to come to the party." When questioned about contesting from Guhagar assembly seat once again in the upcoming assembly elections, Jadhav said that he would like that but the decision would be of the top leadership of Shiv Sena.
