Germany owned automaker Volkswagen India is approached by the National Green Tribunal (NGT), as the automobile dealer has delayed the recall of the that was unveiled last year.
The reason behind the approach was found to be the violations of the green norms by the German automaker, the appeal by Saloni Ailawadi. She also demanded to stop the dealing of a car in India, till the time it meets the pollution related measures.
In responding to the approach, the company stated a statement, "We are in the process of implementing the voluntary recall of vehicles fitted with EA 189 diesel engines in India. We are cooperating with the concerned agencies and putting our best endeavors to conclude the recall process soon. We have received approvals for 13 out of 16 types of vehicles that are eligible for the voluntary recall."
