Kalpakkam nuclear power plant is one of the best plant of India may get damage due to Vardah storm. Heavy rainfall and winds may lead to damage the plant which may be proved costly loss to the government.

“All precautions are taken at nuclear plant Kalpakkam to face Vardah. So far all is well and plant operation is normal. The plant is in touch with the India meteorological department,” statement given by National Disaster Management Authority(NDMA).

There are two powerstation one with 450MW and another with 500MW. The storm speed is considered to be 120-130 kmph which can damage the establishment. Fisherman are not allowed to venture in a sea either along or off in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
