PAC postpones its meeting with Finance Ministry officials

MUMBAI: Kuruppassery Varkey Thomas, chairman of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Monday said that meeting with officials of finance ministry is postponed to February 10. However, the Reserve Bank of India Governor Urjit Patel has to appear before it on January 20 in relation with the demonetisation.

The meeting is postponed for the preparation of Budget. As per the reports, Thomas said “The meeting is scheduled for January 20 and RBI governor Urjit Patel is coming as per information available with me. But the finance ministry officials will not be present on January 20 meeting as they have asked for extension till the Budget exercise gets over,”.

Nishikant Dubey,BJP MP and member of PAC had written to Thomas after which the meeting with Finance ministry has deferred.
