Mustafa Bashir, a 34-year Pakistani cricket ruthlessly thrashed his wife with a cricket bat and forced her to drink bleach is sentenced to jail for 18 months, along with that, the batsman is suspended for two years from the game.

Manchester judge had asked him to attend the workshop 'building better relationships', the player should pay the fine of 1,000 pounds and banned from contacting her wife Fakhara Karim. 

The whole incident occurred publicly when Bashir rebuked Karim for the western attire and hit her with the cricket bat, he forcefully made her drink bleach. Bashir's legal team claimed that imprisonment will spoil his cricketing career.
