New York's high-profile prosecutor Preet Bharara revealed the truth behind the resignation, he said that he had no intention of resignation, rather he was sacked by the Trump administration.

The news was revealed on the social media giant Twitter, where Bharara tweeted, "I did not resign. Moments ago I was fired". Initially, Trump asked him to remain at the position, but soon after the election, Bharara was added in the list of sacked prosecutors.

Bharara further added in his tweet, "Being the US Attorney in SDNY (South District New York) will forever be the greatest honor of my professional life."
