SC to hear PIL in 2007 Goa Mining Case

New Delhi: The Supreme Court today will hear the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by advocate Prashant Bhushan in 2007 Goa mining case.

After the report submitted by Justice M.B shah Commission, the court on October 2012 suspended transportation of mining of iron ore in the state. The commission also discovered that the millions of tonnes of iron ore were illegally mined by several companies.

In May 2013, the Supreme Court put a relax on its order allowing mining with an annual cap of 20 million tonnes.
