The Supreme Court today will hear the plea on the ban of jokes against the Sikh community which is filed by the advocate Harvinder Choudhary. On November 22, the last hearing in the matter held.
She said that these Jokes portray the Sikh community in the negative light and wants conduction of legal action against websites that display such type of jokes.
The apex court earlier had asked the panel led by judge HS Bedi to submit the guidelines. In July 2016, the bench of Chief Justice TS Thakur and Justice DY Chandrachud asked the panel to hold the discussions and submit the guidelines.
