In Hooghly's Asanpur village in Girat a teacher and her mother were beaten up by the villagers with whom they had some arguement. The villagers even set fire their vehicle.
The police officer as per the sources news said "The women were returning home to Agarpara in a car after visiting a relative. When they asked for directions from locals, the villagers suspected them as child-lifters due to some miscommunication".
The officials reached the spot and helped the women. The police officer said, "They were initially taken to a primary health centre in Girat and later shifted to a nursing home at Kalyani in Nadia district".
