The Government will not delay 'GST implementation' post 1st April 2017

In the conference held today, the Finance Minister of India, Arun Jaitley said that the government is doing all efforts to work on the sticky issues related to the GST bill and have kept especial focus on Jurisdiction of assesses. He said the bill be ready to roll out by the April 1st 2017 and will be in total betterment of the nation.

“We are making all efforts to introduce GST from April 1, 2017. GST has to be implemented latest by September 16, 2017, and if it is not implemented by then, then states will not be able to collect their share of taxes, and hence there is not enough scope to further delay the decision,” the finance minister said in the Economic Editor’s conclave that he inaugurated.

Arun Jaitley, all said that “We have already sorted out 10 issues. The issue of dual control still remains, there is no reason why we will not be able to work out a reasonable solution on this.”
