Lower back pain could be the result of certain diseases, such as cancer of the spinal cord, a ruptured or herniated disc, sciatica, arthritis, kidney infections, or infections of the spine. The causes of lower back pain may vary from lifestyle, occupation, genetics, individual characteristics and so on that are associated with a higher risk of developing a specific health problem.
There are some easy ways to treat low back pain.
Cold or Hot water bag-
Cooling shuts down capillaries and reduces blood flow to the area, which helps ease the swelling. The cold also thwarts your nerves' ability to conduct pain signals. Heat, on the other hand, loosens tight muscles and increases circulation, bringing extra oxygen to the rescue.
Avoid vigorous exercises-
One should avoid activities which involve lifting heavy weights or doing other exercises and physical activities that they are not comfortable doing. Walking and swimming are great.
Lose those extra pounds-
Those who are overweight or a bit on the heavier side suffer from low back pain. These individuals are less able to complete everyday activities than people with other chronic conditions.
Change those mattresses-
Sometimes the type of mattress on your bed could also be a reason for the pain. People with lower-back pain who sleep on medium-firm mattresses do better than those with firm beds.
Move around-
Being active could be more effective than just lying or resting on the bed. Activity can range from walking around the house to walking to the shops.
Wear the right shoes-
A good comfy pair of flat shoes will help reduce the pressure on the back, thus making the pain less.
