SAHARANPUR: Clearing up all confusion on any possibility of alliance with any party in coming state Assembly election, Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Raj Babbar on Sunday ruled out any possibilities of alliance in the elections.
Babbar said the state Congress is capable enough to fight elections on its own and ruled out any alliance with any party in the coming Assembly polls slated next year.
“Party workers are excited and full of energy to fight the elections alone. There will be no alliance and the Congress will contest all Assembly seats,” said Babbar.
Taking dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his decision to demonetise high-value banknotes, alleging that the decision was taken to benefit a "few of his friends", Congress leader said, "The money people will now spend will directly benefit those running the 'swiping' empire of the country. The entire nation is in distress because of the note-ban."
“Every section of the society is facing the brunt of demonetisation,” Babbar claimed.
Interestingly statement of Babbar came at a time when these leaders are reported to be in regular touch with the SP brass for a `pre-poll alliance’.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav once again claimed that a SP-Congress alliance will help them to get 300 seats in the Assembly polls.
