Samsung has recently launched its payment services in India, the company hasn't reached to the much extent as it still needs to be linked with the various banks. After Samsung, Whatsapp is planning to give a tough rivalry to the Korean company. As per the reports, now Whatsapp is planning to launch online payment services application, which is UPI powered feature.
As per the reports, “UPI is open to third-party services, making payments is as fast and easy as sending a text message.”
The statement given by the spokesperson of the Whatsapp stated, “India is an important country for WhatsApp, and we’re understanding how we can contribute more to the vision of Digital India. We’re exploring how we might work with companies that share this vision and continuing to listen closely to feedback from our users.”
WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton, while talking about the significance of India said, “India is critically important, it is our leading market. India guides us with respect to what we build and how we build it.”
