It is safe to say now that Fukrey Returns is indeed having a dream run at the box-office. The film has affected a tone with the audience and if nothing else, figures are a proof of that. After collecting an impressive Rs 32.20 crore in the first weekend, the comedy film added another Rs 5.10 crore to its kitty to reach a respectable total of Rs 37.30 crore, thereby also passing the Monday litmus test With this, Fukrey Returns has surpassed the lifetime collection of its prequel, Fukrey, that had made over Rs 36 crore and was termed a sleeper hit. The drop in collection from Friday, when it earned Rs 8.10 crore, which is not bad considering how most films dip on their first Mondays. It is the strong positive word of mouth and audience's love for the brand Fukrey that the film's performance at the box-office has been remarkable so far. Now, with almost ten more days in hand before Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger Zinda Hai hits the screens, Fukrey Returns could well go past the Rs 50 crore mark. The film, directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, stars Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Richa Chadha, Manjot Singh, Ali Fazal and Pankaj Tripathi in the lead roles. It released on December 8, 2017.
