10 cases registered in MP under sedition law in 2 years, will the accused be released now?

Bhopal: In a historic decision given on Wednesday, the Supreme Court has currently banned the registration of an FIR under the Sedition Act (124A). After that, a war has broken out in the country over the Sedition Law. Talking about Madhya Pradesh, a total of 10 FIRs have been registered in the state under the Sedition Act in the last two years. According to the data of the State Crime Records Bureau, 10 cases under Section 124A (sedition law) of the Indian Penal Code have been registered in the state in the last two years.

Out of these, one from January 2020 to December 31, 2020, 7 from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021 and 2 from January 2022 to May 10, 2022, have been registered under the Sedition Act. According to the records, the police stations in Neemuch district are in Jawad and Neemuch City, in Betul police station Sarani and Multai, Narmadapuram police station Shivpur, Anuppur police station Ramnagar, Ujjain police station in Kurai, Seoni police station Maihar Cases have been registered under sedition in Hanumantal police station and Jabalpur.

On the decision of the Supreme Court, police officer Rajesh Rajoura said that the compliance of the order of the Supreme Court will be ensured in the state. Let us inform that earlier a bench headed by Chief Justice NV Ramana has banned the registration of FIR under the sedition law till it is reviewed. At the same time, the court has said that under this law, people in jail can go to the court for bail. The Supreme Court has also said that the courts should consider the matter keeping in view the present order. Thus the avenues for getting bail have been opened for those who are in jail under the sedition law.
