10 refugees selected for Rio Olympics

Ten athletes livelihood in refuge have been chosen to compete on the Olympic refugee team to highlight the world’s refugee crisis whether it’s From Congo to Brazil.

The team was intended so refugee athletes get the same rank at the Games as other competitors. But also to raise consciousness about the scope of the world refugee crisis, with the U.N. saying over 60 million people are forcibly displaced worldwide, and a third of them - refugees.

Five of the 10 athletes are initially from South Sudan, relocated by war, living now at a refugee camp in Kenya and training in the capital Nairobi.
