Punjab: Hospital facilities can get disturbed, 10 thousand health workers will be on strike

The doctors in the first line against the Corona epidemic in Punjab are angry with the government. Ten thousand private doctors of the state will be on strike on Tuesday in protest against the new clinical establishment bill being implemented in Punjab. This will be the first time that private doctors will not examine the patient even in emergency.

For your information, let us tell you that today private hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, laboratories, diagnostic centers, dental, Ayurvedic and homeopathy services will be closed in protest against the Act. Patients will not be treated from six to eight in the morning. On the call of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), the doctors have decided to go on strike on Tuesday. At the same, IMA Secretary Dr. Amrita Rana said that the doctors are very sad to see the patients disturbed. The doctors' fight is with the government, against its wrong policies. The act that the government is implementing has been implemented in many states of the country. This did not result in any improvement in health services, but the government's reckless interference in the private health sector has increased. Treatment became expensive. Several meetings of the IMA were held with the Health Minister against this act. We made the government aware of the adverse effects of the Act, but no solution was found. This is the reason why we have to strike now.

During this time, the most worrying thing will be that the patients who come in emergency, such as serious injuries in road accidents, pregnant women also will not get treatment. In such a situation, there will be an increase of patients in government hospitals. At the same time, Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu has on Monday appealed to the Indian Medical Association (IMA) to withdraw the proposed June 23 strike against the Clinical Establishment Act. The Health Minister said that the Punjab government is ready to consider all the issues raised by the IMA regarding the proposed Clinical Establishment Act, so that the people of the state do not face any problem in getting health facilities from the private health sector during the covid crisis. He said that Punjab is working well to stop the spread of covid-19 and all issues will be resolved.
