12th seed named after Sania and Nadia

Indian tennis player Sania Mirza and her Ukrainian partner Nadia Kichenok will begin their campaign at the Australian Open against Slovenia's Kaza Juwan and Tamara Zidanesek. Sania-Nadia has been seeded 12th. Sania-Nadia has participated in 2 Adelaide WTA events before entering the first Grand Slam of the year, where she reached the semi-finals in the first and has been eliminated in the first round in the second. In the men's doubles, 41-year-old Rohan Bopanna and his French partner Edard Roger-Weslin are scheduled to play their first match against Indonesia's Christopher Rungkat and Treat Huey of the Philippines. Earlier, Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna were knocked out of the Adelaide International two tennis tournament with their respective partners in the first round. Sania and her Ukrainian partner Nadia Kichenok, who reached the semi-finals of the Adelaide One tournament, were defeated 3-6, 3-6 in 61 minutes by Czech Tareja Martinkova and Marketa. Bopanna and his French partner Eduard Roger Vaseline lost 4-6, 6-3, 3-10 to Steve Johnson and Astin Krajisik of the United States in a 1-hour 9-minute bout. Bopanna also won the Adelaide One doubles trophy last week along with compatriot Ramkumar Ramanathan. Bopanna and Sania are now set to challenge at the Australian Open.

On the other hand, ramkumar ramanathan and rohan bopanna started with a win in the men's. Sania and Nadia lost 1-6 in the first set of the match. After which both of them made a great comeback. Sania-Nadia clinched the second set 6-3. In the third set, Olmos of Mexico and Dabroskey of Canada fought hard. However, Sania and Nadia managed to clinch the third set 10-8 after a tough fight.
