Leh: The number of infected people in the Union Territory has increased to 15,429 after 112 new cases of corona infection were reported in the Union Territory of Ladakh. The death toll has risen to 157 after two more people died of infection. Health officials in the Union Territory said that out of 112 new cases, 65 have been registered from Leh district and 47 from Kargil district. There are currently 1,447 people undergoing treatment for coronavirus infection, of which 1,223 are active cases in Leh and 224 in Kargil. Officials said that after the death of two more people, the number of infection deaths in the Union Territory has increased to 157. Of these, 113 were from Leh and 44 from Kargil, who said that in the last 24 hours, 106 more people have recovered, out of which 72 are from Leh and 34 from Kargil. Officials said a total of 13,825 people have recovered in the Union Territory so far. The number of patients has increased to 6,398 after 31 more people were found infected with coronavirus in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. While the death toll due to infection has risen to 78. A health department official said that in the new cases, 29 people were confirmed to be infected during the investigation of people exposed to infected patients and two were found infected during an airport check-up.
