Mumbai: A 16-year-old girl died after a lift fell on her head while she was playing hide and seek in the Mankhurd area of the country's financial capital. Police have arrested two persons in connection with the case and further investigation is underway. Reshma Kharavi, 16, had gone to her grandmother's place in a society in Mankhurd, the report said. On Friday, October 28, she was playing the game of hide and seek with her friends in the society itself. In the game, when Reshma's turn came to look for friends, she peeped through a window, which opens directly into the elevator. Reshma had just put her head in the window when the lift came from above and fell directly on her head. Reshma died tragically in the accident. The family members of the deceased Reshma have accused the officials handling the affairs of the society of negligence. Ravi Kharavi, the father of the deceased, said the housing society officials should have installed glass in the window to avoid accidents. The family has lodged a complaint with the police. Police have registered an FIR. The chairman and secretary of the housing society have been arrested in connection with the case and are being questioned, senior police inspector Mahadev Koli of Mankhurd police station said. The deceased Reshma's family lives in Sathe Nagar, Mumbai. Her grandmother lives on the 5th floor in a housing society in Mankhurd.
