Two persons have been arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle liquor in Jajmau area of the district, police said today. According to police, a car was intercepted late last night during a routine check up in the area. When the duo in the vehicle tried to speed away, police laid a cordon and nabbed them, recovering 200 bottles of Haryana liquor. Accused Jaiprakash and Hemant Jha, both natives of Darbhanga in Bihar, said they used to get liquor from Haryana at cheap rates and sold it at an exorbitant price near the Bihar border. Police have seized the liquor consignment.
