New Delhi: A truck climbed onto the pavement after a collision with a two-wheeler in Delhi's Kashmiri Gate area on Tuesday-Wednesday night. Two persons lost their lives while several others were injured in the incident. Police said, the two-wheeler driver has been identified as the Vahram Khan, a resident of the Matia Mahal area in Delhi, while the other deceased has not been identified so far. The senior police official said the incident took place near the Nigambodh Ghat. The truck was coming from Shastri Park and climbed the pavement after a two-wheeler collided where some people were sleeping. He said, the injured have been admitted to the hospital and have not been identified so far. Police said the truck driver Ateek Ahmad is a resident of the Nehru Vihar area and the police patrolling team caught him near the spot. He said that Ahmad has been arrested and a case has been registered against him. The police have started investigating the incident by sending the bodies of both the deceased for post mortem. The police have also taken possession of the truck.
