The threat of dengue looms in this state amid rising Corona

Bhubaneswar: The threat of dengue is now looming large in Odisha's capital Bhubaneswar amid the coronavirus. About 20 to 30 new cases of dengue are being reported every day in Bhubaneswar. Meanwhile, opposition Congress and BJP have also started targeting the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government in Odisha. Both the parties have accused the state administration of "failing" to prevent the spread of dengue in Bhubaneswar. There are now more than 400 dengue cases.

Opposition parties allege that around 20 new dengue cases are being reported every day in the capital region. While this disease is causing death every day. Former Congress MLA Debashish Patnaik alleged that the state administration has failed to deal with the dengue menace. Bhubaneshwar also topped the list in dengue as well as covid cases. He alleged that the health department has no plans to deal with the disease in the entire state along with Bhubaneswar.

Patnaik said it is surprising that there is no special ward for dengue patients. Even hospitals in Bhubaneswar have not made such arrangements by the administration. BMC sources said that most of the dengue cases have come to light from Selashree Vihar, Chandrashekharpur, the Kalpana area, and some other specific wards. Authorities have launched a campaign to create awareness among people about cleanliness and deadly disease.
