Mumbai: Farmers' suicides are a big issue in Maharashtra. There is also political rhetoric from time to time. Recently a shocking revelation has been made by an RTI. According to RTI, about 2500 farmers have committed suicide in Maharashtra in the last 11 months. According to information received from the Revenue Department of Maharashtra, 2498 farmers have committed suicide in the state from January 2021 to November 2021. In 2020, Maharashtra ended its life by 2547 farmers. Maharashtra's Aurangabad department has the highest number of 804 farmers. While 309 farmers committed suicide in the Nagpur department, 356 farmers committed suicide in Amravati in west Vidarbha, while 299 farmers embraced death in Yavatmal, 285 in Buldhana, 138 in Akola, 75 in Washim. That is, 1153 farmers have committed suicide in 5 districts of the Amravati department in the last one year According to information received from Aurangabad departmental commissioner's office, 711 farmers have committed suicide in Marathwada in 2021 last year. Out of which 150 farmers died in Aurangabad, 75 in Jalna, 51 in Parbhani, 33 in Hingoli, 91 in Nanded, 150 in Beed, 53 in Latur, 108 in Osmanabad.
