Thane: In a shocking incident, police detained a 26-year-old man for raping his minor step daughter for the past one year.
According to Senior Police Inspector G D Pingle of Chitalsar-Manpada police station, “the accused, a tailor by profession, had been raping his 11-year-old step daughter since 2015”.
“The victim's mother had left her first husband in Bihar and remarried the accused. The duo resided in Kapurbawdi locality here with the victim. The accused had also left his first wife, ” he added.
An investigation is underway in this matter and a case under relevant sections of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Act 2012 was filed against the convict.
