Kolkata: In West Bengal, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has once again suffered a major setback. Here, 300 BJP workers have joined the Trinamool Congress (TMC). They have been purified with Ganga water and included back in the TMC. Not only are many leaders in line after Mukul Roy's return home, but now the ground level BJP workers are also going back to the TMC. In the latest development, 300 BJP workers moved to the TMC simultaneously in Birbhum district of Bengal on Friday. At least 300 BJP workers were on hunger strike in front of the TMC office in Birbhum. They demanded that they be withdrawn in TMC. However, all of them were later admitted to the TMC and purified by spraying Ganga water. The hunger strike by BJP workers started at 8 am and lasted till 11 am for three hours. They were purified with Ganga water at the time of inclusion in the TMC. In fact, Ashok Mandal, one of the BJP workers on hunger strike on his insistence on joining the TMC, said, "We want us to be withdrawn in TMC. We have less the development of our village. Joining the BJP cost us instead of profit. We want to come back to the TMC of our own volition. Unless we are withdrawn, we will sit on dharna".
