At the same time, due to the closure of 440 transformers, power is not reaching many areas. 168 roads have been closed in Lahaul-Spiti. With this, 62 roads have been closed in Kinnaur, 55 in Chamba, 51 in Kullu, 9 in Shimla and 8 in Mandi. This has affected the movement of people and people have to be confined to their homes. Not only this but visibility has also been affected due to dense fog in Shimla. In such a situation, the vehicular movement has come down drastically. Several upper reaches of Lahaul Spiti, Kinnaur, Pangi, Bada Bhangal, Kullu and Shimla have been cut off. However, traffic on the Kufri-Phagu route in Shimla has been restored. Shimla Rampur and Shimla-Rohdu routes have also been diverted from snow and traffic have been started. Shimla Deputy Commissioner Aditya Negi said that 70 mm snowfall has occurred in the Kothi area of the city. At the same time, in other areas also, the figure has been from 30 to 12 cm. According to the MET department, rain and snowfall are yet to continue till January 10. People have been advised not to move too much on threats like landslides.
