New Delhi: Today, 38 policemen from Delhi have been awarded medals for their services on the occasion of Republic Day. The officials informed that on the occasion of Republic Day, 17 policemen have been awarded Police Gallantry Medal (PMG), three policemen from President's Police Medal for outstanding service and 18 policemen have been awarded police medals for meritorious service. DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav and his special cell team colleagues were awarded the Police Gallantry Medal for overcoming the notorious Kranti gang in Delhi-NCR in 2018. DCP Pramod Singh Kushwaha and his led police team, who recovered heavy ammunition from the suspected ISIS terrorist Yusuf Khan in September last year, were also awarded the police gallantry medal. DCP Pramod Singh Kushwaha and Inspector Vinod Kumar were honoured with PMG for arresting three ISIS terrorists in Delhi in January last year. DCP G Ram Gopal Naik, ACP Rajesh Kumar and his colleagues had rescued a five-year-old son of a Delhi businessman in an 11-day operation in 2018 for which he was awarded the Police Gallantry Medal.
