Mumbai: Police in Maharashtra's Thane district have detained 40 Bangladeshi nationals who are residing illegally in Bhiwandi. These Bangladeshis were working as daily wage labourers after illegally entering the nation. All of these persons have been charged with a crime. On Tuesday, the police were notified in this regard (November 30, 2021). "These people had migrated here from Bangladesh by fabricating false documents and were working on fraudulent papers in various firms in Bhiwandi city and its surrounds," Bhiwandi DCP Yogesh Chavan informed the press. All of these people have been charged, and they have been detained in police custody for two days. According to him, one of the arrested Bangladeshis merely possesses a false passport, while 90% of the accused have also fabricated Aadhaar and PAN cards in the United States. They were also found with 28 mobile phones valued Rs 94,000, according to the police. According to reports in the media, police have made arrests at a number of locations across the city. Twenty persons were arrested at Shanti Nagar, ten in Bhiwandi city, and ten in the Narpoli police station area. The males reportedly used the IMO video app to contact relatives in Bangladesh and persons allegedly aiding them in crossing the border, according to authorities.
