Ranchi: Bengal police have seized a large quantity of spurious Ayurvedic medicine from a border area along the Jharkhand-Bengal border. These spurious drugs were supplied to other states including Jharkhand, Bihar, Bengal, Uttar Pradesh. The value of the seized drugs is said to be in millions. Police have arrested five people from the spot. In fact, the case has come to light from Kulti police station in Burdwan district of Bengal. ACP Md. Omar Ali Mollah said police raided the house of Ritesh Kumar Gupta, a resident of Bauri Pada in Hanuman Chadh. Where illegally manufactured Krishna Company's drug Cough Syrup, stomach ache medication and other medicines have been found. Police have arrested Ajay Gupta, Rupesh Gupta, Suman Ravidas and Ashok Chaudhary along with the owner of the company Ritesh Kumar Gupta. For a long time, these people used to make unlicensed medicines and supply them to other states including Jharkhand, Bihar, Bengal, Uttar Pradesh. These medicines were used to produce Ayurvedic medicines by adulterating a variety of chemicals, honey, soda, jaggery, paracetamol tablets and battery water, coconut oil, etc. This was followed by a send from one state to another.
