5 Bangladeshis illegally living in Karnataka arrested

Bangalore: Five Bangladeshi migrants have been arrested for illegally living in the Kadugodi area of Karnataka's capital Bengaluru. Bengaluru police said 5 foreign nationals living illegally in the capital have been detained under the Foreigners Act 1946. They came here without a visa or travel documents. Further process of their deportation continues.

According to the Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Patil, Bangladeshi nationals (illegal Bangladesh nationals) have been booked under the Foreigners Act 1946 (Foreigners Act of 1946). He said 5 illegal Bangladeshi nationals have been arrested in Kadugodi in Bengaluru. They have been booked under the Foreigners Act, the case is being investigated. The arrest comes days after 9 illegal Bangladeshi migrants were arrested from Sacharli village under Bhiwandi tehsil of Thane district of Maharashtra.

Hours after 5 illegal Bangladeshi migrants were arrested in Bengaluru on Friday, Karnataka Home Minister Aaraga Gyanendra described them as anti-national and a threat to national security. Gyanendra told the press, '5 Bangladeshis who were living here illegally have been caught, we cannot tolerate people living without papers. Our state police is taking appropriate action against some foreign nationals who are involved in anti-national and anti-national security activities.'
