5 common food misconceptions every parent should know !

There are many food misconceptions related to kids. Few are listed here to help parents keeping their toddler’s food habits right.

More sugar means more hyperactivity: studies have shown that there is no relation between sugar and hyperactivity. So parents do not confuse your kid’s uncommon activities (lack of sleep, lack of physical activity, poor diet) with sugar intake instead try to give him nutrition through various food sources.

Younger children are more food selective: You can try different dishes to feed your kid. There is nothing like s/he will stick to a particular taste or completely deny eat something. Kids learn to eat different foods through repetitions, so don’t give up easily over a taste.

High fiber food is good for kids: For adults, high fiber food is really nutritious but your toddler might not be able to digest such food intake. So oatmeal is good sometimes but higher intake can harm your kid’s digestive system.

The kid will outgrow his food allergy: there is some common food allergy that disappears with time but some allergies may not outgrow. Do not take it lightly and consult with a pediatrician regarding allergy.

Different age, different taste preference, different food: It’s a common misconception that toddlers need kid type food. From the age of 6 parents should start introducing their kids with different tastes. It will increase their nutrition sources and develop positive eating habits in them.
