UP: Bus and pickup van collided on NH-9, 5 killed, over a dozen injured

Lucknow: A major accident has taken place in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh in the morning on NH-9. Here on the highway, a bus and a pickup overturned uncontrollably. So far, 5 people have died in the accident, while more than a dozen people are said to be injured. The injured have been sent to hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, police have reached the spot.

The incident took place on Lucknow Highway in Thana Pakbara area of Moradabad. Here a double decker bus hit the pickup moving ahead. The collision was so severe that both the trains overturned uncontrollably. So far, 5 people have lost their lives in the accident, while more than a dozen passengers have been injured. The number of people who lost their lives in the accident is also expected to increase further. The injured have currently been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Balram, an eyewitness said he works as a labourer in Punjab and was returning home to Pilibhit with his colleagues. He said the pickup was asked to be stopped by the police on the way and as soon as the speed of the pickup slowed down, it was hit by a bus coming from behind, causing the car to overturn. He said three of his colleagues Ashish, Suresh and Nanhe lost their lives in the accident.
