Bhopal: The concern of farmers in Bhopal has increased even more. Till Wednesday, about 2 lakh 80 thousand metric tonnes of wheat has been purchased at 65 procurement centers in the capital. There are still two thousand farmers whose wheat has not been sold. The concern of these farmers is that if their wheat is wet then how will they be able to sell it. According to the Meteorological Department, the rainy season has started in the city since late Wednesday. Due to this, the problems of administration have increased because 50 thousand metric tons of wheat is lying outside. The administration is forced to keep them in the open. If it rains, it is almost certain the wheat will get wet, because the administration has not been able to arrange for storage. On the other hand, Collector Tarun Pithode on Wednesday asked the officials of Food and Civil Supplies, Non and Ware House Corporation to make all arrangements before the rain. Wheat should not get wet. Cover it with a plastic bag. The weather has increased difficulties. Storage and transport of wheat remains a challenge. Wheat has to be purchased by June 5. Purchase has been completed at more than half of the total 65 centers in the district. Due to this, the number of purchases has increased rapidly. The target was to procure 2.10 lakh MT. More than 2.80 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has been purchased. This figure will increase in two days' purchase. 32 thousand farmers had registered to sell wheat to the government.
