Bhopal: After the lockdown, many trains have now come back on track. Rail fare from Bhopal to stations like Dry Sewania, Deewanganj, Salamatpur, Bairagarh or Mandideep is going to increase by three times. However, this fare can be applied after July 1, possibly after converting passenger trains into express. In these trains, the fare of at least 50 km will be taken from the passengers, even if the passenger has traveled only 10 km. The Railway Ministry has announced the express status of about 508 passenger trains in all 17 zones. Under this, the fare is going to increase. 32 trains of West-Central Railway zone including Jhansi-Itarsi Passenger, Bhopal-Indore Passenger, Vindhyachal, Bhopal-Jodhpur Fast Passenger running or passing from Bhopal are being made express. The base fare of passenger class trains is up to 3 rupees. While the express category costs 29 rupees, so after the express is made from the passenger of the train, at least Rs 29 fare will be charged per passenger. Fast passengers like Bhopal-Jodhpur, who travel more than 300 km at a time so far, will have to pay 101 instead of 60. The Railway Board has asked the passenger trains to reduce their stoppage before making the express. The train will start passing at the speed of express instead of passenger. However, these passenger trains are mainly going to include trains traveling up to 200 km.
