India finished at the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games at Ashgabat concluded

In the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games at Ashgabat in Turkmenistan yesterday at the concluding day the India ends at 11th position. India grabbed four medals, including a gold through tennis player Sumit Nagal. In the men's singles, tennis event Nagal bagged Gold when he defeated Vijay Sundar Prashanth 6-1, 6-1 in the final clash.

It is the second medal of Prashanth as he earlier picked a gold in the men's doubles event along with fellow countryman Vishnu Vardhan. Through Chess, on the last day, India also had clinched two bronze medals. The Vietnam pair of Le Quang Liem and Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son in the semifinals of men's blitz team event defeated K Sasikiran and Surya Sekhar Ganguly.

India with the total of nine gold, 12 silver and 19 bronze finished at the 11th position in the Games. The medal tally is topped by Hosts Turkmenistan with 89 gold, 70 silver and 86 bronze, followed by China and Iran.

In the games, more than  200 athletes in 15 sports are representing India which is said as the second biggest multi-sporting event of the continent after the Asian Games.
