Nandagudi police have arrested 6 massage parlour employees after a 35-year-old cab driver has lodged a complaint of blackmail and assault. the accused employees also include two women. The cab driver belongs to Kadugodi. He was admitted in hospital after the parlour employees assaulted him. After getting a discharge from the hospital, he filed the complaint on July 9. Police identified the massage parlour employees as Ashraf, Karthik, Johan, Mamatha, Dimple, and Suresh. The cab driver is a thyroid patient and a diabetic, he wanted to go for an Ayurvedic massage. He located a parlour at Pratham Building in Banaswadi. When he went in, he was greeted by a woman dressed inappropriately. He asked for the Ayurvedic massage, but the staff told him it was only massage ‘service’. The cab driver threatened the parlour employees to go to the media and police and started walking down the stairs, a few men from the parlour grabbed him by the shirt, took him back to the parlour and stripped him inside the parlour. They made him sit with a woman without clothes and clicked his photos. They also threatened to upload the photos if he approached the police. The victim somehow managed to escape from the parlour. When he reached near Shivanapura Cross on the way to Hoskote on Chinthamani Road, his vehicle was intercepted by another car and two motorcycles. The accused then assaulted him with beer bottles and a knife, injuring him in his hand. He got admitted to two private hospitals and stayed there for eight days. In the preliminary investigation, the police officers found that the driver is an RTI activist. The police are investigating whether he had a motive behind targeting the parlour. The 6 parlour employees are now in police custody. Police are investigating the whole matter and soon they will take action against the culprits.
