7900 students to ride on e-scooters as CM Mohan Yadav distributes keys for excellent performance in 12th standard

The 7900 top performing students of Madhya Pradesh in the 12th standard in session 2023-24 have been gifted scooters by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on 5th February 2025. He distributed the keys to the students at the event organized at Kushabhau Thackeray Convention Center in the capital city Bhopal.

 

This comes under the Mukhyamantri Scooty Yojana of the Madhya Pradesh Government. According to the Education Department, under the scheme free e-scooters were to be distributed to the 7,900 students who scored the highest marks in any faculty of government schools in the academic session 2023-24.

The students have been eagerly waiting for the scheme ever since the results came out. The students were given the option to take electric scooters or petrol run scooters. If the student chooses to buys e-scooter, then he was given 1,20,000 and if he chooses to buy petrol scooters he was given 90,000. Today, 10 students were given the keys at the event. The amount according to their choice was already deposited in their accounts.

The beneficiaries of the scheme include the students who secured first position scoring highest marks in the 12th board examination studying in Higher Secondary Schools run by the state government. At the event, along with the Chief minister, State Education minister Uday Pratap Singh and Tribal Affairs Minister Vijay Shah were also present.

In the session 2022-23, 7778 students were provided with the money to buy scooters. Out of this, 2760 students were given 1,25,000 rupees to buy e-scooters, while the rest of them received 90,000-1,00,000 rupees to buy petrol run scooters.
