8 tourists from Kerala found dead in resort in Nepal, 5 innocent children also died

Kathmandu: 8 tourists from Kerala have died in Nepal. The dead body of the tourists was found at a resort in Daman on Tuesday morning. The deceased also included 2 couples and 5 children who had gone from Kerala with a group of 15 people to visit Pokhara in Nepal. All the children killed were minors. Pokhara is a famous tourist destination of Nepal.

The bodies of the dead will be brought to India tomorrow after the post-mortem. It is being told that due to extreme cold, powerful gas hitters were installed in the rooms, probably due to its poisonous gas, this accident may have happened. Among those who died include name as 38-year-old Praveen Krishna Narayan, 35-year-old Sharanya Shashi, 34-year-old Ranjit Kumar AP, besides 9-year-old Indra Lakshmi, 7-year-old Sreebhadra, 5-year-old Ark Praveen, 5-year-old Abhinna Shaurnay Nair, and 2-year-old Vaishnav Ranjit.

Among the dead, 5 children are under 10 years of age. Expressing sorrow over this incident, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said, "I am deeply distressed by the sad news of the death of 8 Indian tourists in Nepal. Our embassy in Nepal is closely assessing the situation. Embassy officials are present in the hospital and providing all possible assistance. We are with bereaved families."
