96 Kailash Mansarovar Yatra pilgrims evacuated

 

Kathmadu [Nepal], July 04 (NT): As many as 96 Indian pilgrims, who were undertaking the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, were evacuated on Wednesday.

As per the sources in Nepal, at least 73 Indian pilgrims were evacuated using flight to Surkhet district while 23 others were evacuated by a chopper. If the weather remains favorable, the evacuation process will be finished in two to three days.

 Reort further said that the pilgrims who are in Tibet, still stay there and are safe. They will be brought back after the evacuation process in Nepal is ended.

Yesterday, at least 104 Indian pilgrims were brought back to Simikot from Hilsa, while  a pilgrim from Andhra Pradesh and another one from Kerala, died in Nepal when they were returning from the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.

The Indian Embassy in Nepal issued a list of hotline numbers for the pilgrims trapped in Nepal and their family members. A number of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra pilgrims are left high and dry in parts of Nepal following heavy rainstorm.
