The Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Wednesday announced that 99 doctors died of corona in India, most of which were general practitioners. The association has declared a Red Alert for Physician and Medical Administration. They are asked to increase their safety, to not become a corona victim themselves. According to IMA's National COVID-19 Registry data, a total of 1,302 doctors were infected with Corona, out of which 99 died due to this disease, out of which 73 doctors were more than 50 years of age, 19 doctors were 35 to 50 years of age and 7 doctors were below 35 years of age. The IMA believes that if the coronavirus reduces the mortality rate of humans, thus the doctors need to take precautions from the hospitals firstly. Therefore, the IMA strongly advocates the leadership of physicians in adopting the best scientific practices. It is necessary to thoroughly review and update all administrative arrangements of the hospital, including the protocol of corona infection. Any kind of lack in the safety of doctors, nurses, and other staff should be demolished. The National President of the IMA, Dr. Ranjan Sharma said that the medical profession remains a ray of hope for providing leadership to India curing with Corona. The death of doctors from Corona has become a matter of serious concern, so senior doctors who have decisions in institutions are responsible for looking after their team.
