These days the crime against women especially in Metro cities is increasing day by day. In yet another shocking and shameful incident, a 42-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by three persons in Mumbai’s Kurla. According to the information, The accused group break into her residence and attacked her with a sharp weapon before sexually assaulting her. The victim also suffered burn injuries on her private parts after being tortured using cigarettes. The Horrific incident took place in Kurla in the early hours of Wednesday. As per the Mumbai Police official said the accused trio lived not far from the woman's home. The police official told that "The accused raped her one by one and also performed unnatural sex. They burned her private parts with cigarettes and attacked her with a sharp weapon on the chest and both arms. They also filmed the horrific incident and threatened to circulate it if she approached police,". The horrific and shameful incident came to light after the woman opened up about the incident to her neighbors, who in turn contacted an NGO to get an FIR registered with the Kurla police. The accused has been charged under Indian Penal Code sections 376 (rape), 376D (gang rape), 377 (unnatural sex), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon). Police is further investigating the matter.
