In the new year, Shakuntalam film director Gunasekhar revealed that he was ready to make this big budget film. He recently confirmed that star actress Samantha Akkineni will play a nominal role in his upcoming mythological drama Shakuntalam, based on Kalidasa's unnamed works.
Today, Shakuntalam makers shared a picture from the sets of Samantha's backlook. By sharing the film, Shakuntalam producers confirmed that Samantha's costume designs are being supervised by National Award-winning costume designer Neeta Lulla, Devdas and Jodha Akbar, Directed by Sunsekhar. Nita Lulla and her staff are seen as Samantha Akkineni Shakuntala.

Speaking about the cast, Gunasekhar's Big Budget Project explores the love story of King Dushyanta and Heavenly Apsara, Maneka and age Shi Vishwamitra's daughter Shakuntala. Gunasekhar's previous presentation was Rudra Madevi, in which Anushka Shetty played the lead role, Rana Daggubati and Allu Arjun appeared in key roles. Meanwhile, The Family 2, a web series starring Manoj Bajpayee and Priyamani, will be premiered on February 12, will star Samantha in negative roles.
