Karnataka: In yet another shocking incident in Karnataka's Kolar district, a minor girl was allegedly raped by a painter. The man's wife then forced him to marry the victim in order to save him from penal action. The incident took place at Hunasikote in Malur taluk. On Monday police arrested both the accused, Gangaraju and Pallavi under provisions of the Child Marriage Act, POCSO Act and Protection of Civil Right Act. It is to be noted that the couple got married a few months ago and were living at Hunasikote, near Tikal. It is to be noted that, reportedly, the incident took place when a 13-year-old cousin of Pallavi arrived at their house and was staying with them for the past week. The victim was allegedly raped by the accused and was threatened by him of dire consequences if she revealed it to anyone. Meanwhile, another complaint was lodged by her father wherein she then narrated the entire incident to the child's helpline, police, accompanied by a counsellor and a legal advisor. The victim also claimed that fearing trouble, she was forced to marry Gangaraju by his wife.
