A Muslim couple harasses and rape a minor girl and then…

Thane: A couple in Thane, district of Maharashtra has been sentenced to 10 years' rigorous imprisonment for the rape of a minor girl. A district sessions court in Thane delivered the verdict after a police investigation into the matter revealed that the accused, who are distant relatives of the minor girl, lured her to their home and raped her.

 

Her it is to be noted that Special Judge PP Jadhav awarded the punishment to one Allauddin Mansuri and his wife Akhtari Begum both of whom are residents of Warlipada in Pawane village of Maharashtra's Thane district. The judge also imposed a fine of Rs 11,000 each on both of the accused after Prosecutor Vivek Kadu argued explained the timeline of events regarding this case before the court. The couple lured the 13-year-old girl, a student of Class VII, to their home after which Allauddin raped her.

They continued to harass and abuse the girl by threatening her, added the prosecutor. Their heinous crime came to light only after the girl complained of stomach ache and was taken to a doctor by her parents. Medical examination revealed that the girl was four-months pregnant at the time, said Kadu. A couple in Chennai was also arrested earlier this month from Chengalpattu for sexually harassing a four-year-old child. The accused were neighbours of the child's parents who worked as daily wage labourers.

Another case which was reported from the neighbouring district of Palghar earlier this month where a 12-year-old boy was booked for raping and impregnating a 10-year-old girl. The girl's parents approached police when they discovered that their daughter was being raped by their minor neighbour for over our months and was pregnant. Acting on their complaint, Mokhada police launched an investigation into the matter and later arrested the boy. He was booked under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
