Patna: Bihar Industries Minister Shahnawaz Hussain on Thursday said that khadi policy will be formulated soon in the state by promoting khadi village industries. He said this will also greatly help in creating employment. A review meeting of khadi and village industries institutions of the state-organized by Bihar Pradesh Khadi Village Industries Board was held here on Thursday which was attended by Industry Minister Hussain. The meeting held extensive discussions on accelerating employment generation in Khadi Village Industries in Bihar. Representatives of 61 Khadi Committees of the State participated in the meeting and made important suggestions. The meeting also discussed the formulation of the Khadi policy of Bihar. Addressing the meeting, Hussain said that the khadi policy will be formulated soon to create more and more employment in khadi village industries by promoting it. He emphasized that suggestions will be taken from all Khadi Committees before formulating the Khadi policy. The Minister claimed that the Government is working towards promoting khadi textiles and is taking all effective steps. He said khadi products will be better enhanced at 75 fairs to be held in the country on the Amrit Mahotsav of independence. Khadi, Handloom, and Handicrafts have immense potential for employment generation, it can generate lakhs of jobs, but for that, all khadi committees have to work together.
