New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has suspended one of its former MLAs from the primary membership of the party for hurting religious sentiments. The party has suspended MLA Jarnail Singh from Delhi's Rajouri Garden, taking action on the issue of Facebook post. Jarnail Singh's official Facebook account disputed comments about Hindu goddesses, after which the party took action on Wednesday August 12. In the statement issued by the party, it has been said that it was decided to take this action against Jarnail Singh in the meeting of the party's political affairs committee (PAC). The party has cited the use of derogatory words against Hindu goddesses as the reason for action against Jarnail. According to media reports, Jarnail Singh has said, "Aam Aadmi Party is a secular party and there is no place for anyone who insults any religion." According to the report, Jarnail, while giving his clarification on this post, said that his younger son had made this controversial comment from his phone. According to Jarnail, his younger son was using the phone for an online class and during this time he posted this. Jarnail said that he respects all the gods.
