A 31-year-old man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 22-year-old woman to have unnatural intercourse in 2018 in Mumbai. The woman accused the man reportedly subjected to mental and physical torture in the past few years. The accused has been identified as Abdul Hamid Khan. As per the information, he is the resident of the Kapadia Nagar area in Kurla. The woman and Abdul Hamid Khan became friends on social media in 2018. After this the accused made a marriage proposal, the victim was repeatedly raped and forced to have sex with him in a Mankhurd hotel room. In 2019, the victim became pregnant, and the accused made her take pills that caused a miscarriage. After this the victim began putting pressure on him to tie knot her. He legally married her but did not take her home. The Police official speaking about the incident said, "Khan forced the victim to stay with him in the same room in Mankhurd where he had earlier sexually exploited her in 2020 when the victim kept insisting on a normal marital relationship. Even after marriage, the accused had repeatedly tortured her physically and mentally, as well as committed several other sexual crimes." The police official further told, "The victim claimed in her statement that he repeatedly tried to get a divorce from her but she resisted him. In an effort to intimidate her, he also filed two theft cases against her." The accused was arrested on Tuesday after the victim filed a complaint against him earlier this month. The accused has been booked for rape, forcible unnatural intercourse, cheating, causing harm with poison, assault.
