New Delhi: An incident of rape of a 15-year-old girl and attempting to kill her by ingesting acid in Delhi's Nangloi area has come to light. The victim has been admitted to AIIMS Hospital in critical condition. Police have registered a case and arrested the culprit factory manager. He is accused of executing the incident with the help of his wife. His wife is still absconding. Police are searching for her at possible locations.
On Friday, the Nangloi police station received a PCR call. The caller told the police that they have caught the culprit who raped the sister. Police went to the spot and took the culprit Jai Prakash into custody. The caller said that his sister is admitted to AIIMS. Police visited the hospital on Saturday and took the statement of the teenager. The victim said she works in a shoe factory.
On July 2, Jai Prakash, the manager of her factory, called her home from some work. There he raped her with the help of his wife. Later on July 5, on her way home, he ingested the poisonous substance. The victim somehow reached home and fell unconscious. Thereafter, the family rushed her to the nearest hospital from where she was referred to AIIMS. The victim was not in a position to give a statement for several days, but she somehow told the truth to her family members. On Friday, the family caught hold of the culprit and called the police. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Outer District, Sameer Sharma said that the family members alleged that the culprit had given acid to their minor daughter. The police are engaged in the investigation. The criminal's wife is being sought. The girl is currently in a very serious condition in the hospital. Women's Commission Chairperson Swati Maliwal has taken cognizance of the matter and issued a notice to the Delhi Police. The commission has asked the police to immediately record the victim's statement before the magistrate at the hospital itself as the condition of the girl is very serious.
